Traffic Alert! Major Pavement Marking Project to Start on Kane County Roadways

Kane County Connects Staff 8/10/2022 8:00AM

The annual Kane County Urethane Pavement Marking Program work will begin the week of August 15, weather permitting.

The work will include installation of urethane pavement markings onto 12.7 miles of the following County highways:

Kirk Road from IL Rt 64 to Averill Circle

Randall Road from Bowes Road to Thornwood Avenue

Orchard Road from US 30 to Randall Road

Silver Glen Road at Randall Road

The County’s typical process is to apply the durable urethane pavement marking to high volume County highways. This pavement marking project will improve the visibility of the lane markings for the motoring public. The work is anticipated to be completed by the end of October, weather dependent.

Temporary daily lane closures will be required Monday through Saturday from 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. to safely accomplish this work. Lane closures are scheduled to start in the north end of the county, working their way south until all necessary lane lines have been restriped, weather permitting. The north to south progression may change as weather impacts may dictate alternate striping sequences. Temporary flagger control of intersections will be required along the entire route in order to safely accomplish the required work.
