Fall is Officially Here! Plan a Trip to View the Peak Fall Colors with Online Map

Today is the first official day of fall and the leaves on area trees are already starting to change.  The Illinois Office of Tourism and Department of Natural Resources have an online tool called the Fall Colors Trip Planner that updates the peak times to see fall colors across Illinois.

This year's forecasts these peak times for the following regions in Illinois:

• Northern Illinois: Second week of October
• Central Illinois: Middle of October
• Southern Illinois: Last week of October

The planner will be updated weekly throughout the season.  ​
