Kane County Board Chairman Corinne Pierog, along with more than 50 other lawmakers, government and community leaders from Illinois and Indiana, took part in a White House forum on community re-investment.

The group was given an opportunity to share details about how local projects are benefiting from federal investments and the positive outcome those funds are having regionally on improving the lives of citizens and strengthening the economy.

Chairman Pierog spoke about the use of the COVID related funding provided to Kane County through the American Rescue Plan, highlighting the funding of a potential new Health Department facility, the nationwide promotion of the Fox River as an outdoor recreational destination, water quality improvements, behavioral health support, and the development of a Kane County Economic Development Council.

"It was truly rewarding to hear and then convey how federal investments have positively impacted Kane County, creating meaningful opportunities and programs that benefit the lives of our residents in so many different ways," said Chairman Pierog.

The White House is hosting a series of forums, to bring people from each state together to share stories about the work being done locally with federal funding.

Along with Chairman Pierog, Kane County was represented at the forum by state lawmakers from Kane County.
