Kane County Veterans Resource Fair Success

Over 200 veterans attended the Kane County Veterans Assistance Commission's Resource Fair and Town Hall.  The event was held at Batavia Overseas VFW & Auxiliary 1197 on February 2.  There were more than 50 tables of individuals and organizations who provide support or services to veterans in Kane County.  

"We're grateful for our network of committed partner organizations, numbering over 50, that came together to provide resources and services for our local veterans' community," said Kane County Veterans Assistance Superintendent, Jake Zimmerman.  "Special thanks to the Batavia United Way for sponsoring the event and the Batavia VFW for hosting it. It's truly a great time to be a veteran in Kane County."

There was also a Town Hall meeting attended by Illinois Department of Veterans Affairs Director Terry Prince, Edward Hines Jr. VA Hospital Chief of Staff Dr. Michael Richardson, Chicago VA Regional Office Veteran Service Center Manager John Pennington and Illinois District 84 Representative Stephanie Kifowit.
