Kane County Asst. State's Attorney Honored for Teaching Excellence

Kane County State's Attorney's Office announces that Assistant State's Attorney Kelly Orland is this year's recipient of the National District Attorneys Association's Distinguished Faculty Award. She received this honor during the organization's recent conference in Boston.

The NDAA is a national, non-partisan, nonprofit membership organization that provides training, support, and services to prosecutors around the country. Their mission is “to be the voice of American prosecutors and to support their efforts to protect the rights and safety of the people."

According to the NDAA website, the Distinguished Faculty Award recognizes one of the NDAA's most impactful educators who has “demonstrated excellence in teaching, contributed greatly to NDAA training programs, and promoted professional development within the prosecutorial field."

NDAA's Assistant Director of Education and Engagement presented the award to ASA Orland, saying, “She consistently goes above and beyond, mentoring colleagues, supporting fellow faculty, and contributing her time to ensure NDAA programs are successful. Her commitment reflects not only excellence in teaching, but a deep investment in the people and mission of this organization."

ASA Orland has contributed to NDAA programs such as Prosecutor Boot Camp and Cross-Examination Lab.

“Kelly is such an asset to our office and to Kane County," said Kane County State's Attorney Jamie L. Mosser. “Her dedication to mentoring and teaching others is truly inspiring, and I cannot think of anyone more deserving of this award."​
