"A centrally located, ADA-compliant, and well-served office ensures that seniors, people with disabilities, working families, and those without reliable transportation can fully participate in civic life," said Kane County Board Chairman Corinne Pierog. "This new office in the northern part of Elgin will no longer require residents who live in northern Kane County to drive 30 to 40 minutes to access the Clerk’s office." 
Kane County Clerk Opens Satellite Office in Elgin

The Kane County Clerk’s Office has officially opened a new satellite office at 2170 Point Boulevard, Suite 600, Elgin, with a ribbon-cutting ceremony held on December 17, 2025. 
“We’re not only expanding accessibility to services for residents in Elgin, but to all of the towns surrounding Elgin,” Kane County Clerk John A. Cunningham said. The new location is accessible from Illinois Route 20 and Randall Road and I-90 and Randall Road.
The Elgin office provides the same services as the main office in Geneva, including birth, death and marriage certificates, along with election services and passport applications, offering greater convenience for residents in Elgin and surrounding communities. The Clerk’s first satellite office opened in Aurora in August 2018, serving the county’s second-largest city on the south end of the county.
The Kane County Board approved the purchase of the new building in 2024 for $2.8 million, enhancing the county’s capacity to provide essential services. The building will also serve as a satellite office for the Kane County Health Department, while the existing Aurora location will remain fully operational. The Kane County Coroner, Sheriff and Court Services will also eventually have services or offices in the building as well.
This Elgin location marks Kane County’s first building acquisition since 2009, following the purchase of the Montgomery Ward Building in St. Charles, which houses the Circuit Clerk’s Office and a Kane County Branch Court.
