Kane County Connects Staff 9/8/2026 12:00PM

The Kane County Board has proclaimed Sept. 17, 2026, as Constitution and Citizenship Day and Sept. 17-23 as Constitution Week in Kane County. The proclamation was presented to Kane County military Veterans by Kane County Board member Bill Roth in recognition of their service to the nation and the principles protected by the Constitution.

Sept. 17 marks the anniversary of the signing of the U.S. Constitution in Philadelphia in 1787. The National Archives notes that Constitution Day and Citizenship Day commemorate the signing of the Constitution and recognize American citizenship.

The Kane County proclamation encourages residents to reflect on the ideals of the Constitution and to uphold the freedoms it guarantees. It also recognizes Constitution Week as an opportunity for communities, schools and other organizations to participate in educational and commemorative activities.
