New Job Kiosks Expand Career Access in Kane County
Job seekers in Aurora now have greater access to career resources thanks to a new network of job kiosks.
On Tuesday, September 30, 2025, workNet Batavia, in partnership with the Aurora Quad County Urban League, hosted a ribbon cutting ceremony to unveil the kiosks. The first four will be installed in Aurora at the Aurora Quad County Urban League offices, Santori Public Library, West Branch Aurora Public Library, and Hesed House.
A total of 15 kiosks will eventually be placed in accessible community locations such as libraries and food pantries throughout Kane, Kendall and DeKalb counties, served by worknet Batavia. Each kiosk connects residents directly to job listings, career coaching, training opportunities, and other support services offered through workNet Batavia. The project is funded by a $167,000 grant from the Illinois Department of Commerce secured by Kane County. The kiosks aim to remove barriers for residents who may not otherwise have easy access to workforce services.
“Whether you’re looking for your first job, a new career path, or training to move up in your field, these kiosks will connect you to the resources you need,” said Kane County Board Chairman Corinne Pierog.
Also present for the official unveiling of the kiosk were Kane County Board members Anita Lewis—who chairs the County Board’s Jobs Committee and was instrumental in helping secure the grant that funded the job kiosks—along with fellow Board members Bill Tarver, Mavis Bates, and Sonia Garcia.
workNet Batavia is a one-stop career resource center that supports both job seekers and employers through coaching, job search assistance, training referrals, and other services designed to strengthen the region’s workforce.
