Kane County Animal Control Pet of the Week - Randy Savage
KCAC’s Adorable, Adoptable Pet of the Week is written by Tecla Metzel of Kane County Animal Control. 8/15/2025 4:00AM
“When the tea is brought at five o’clock, and all the neat curtains are drawn with care, the little black cat with bright green eyes is suddenly purring there.” – Harold Munro, poet
Weighing in at a little over 11-pounds, Randy Savage is a 1-year-old male Domestic Shorthair that absolutely brings the confidence of a much older cat.
He has the sleek look of a panther, with a somewhat rounded face of a cat that’s perfectly willing to show his playful side to everyone he meets.

His golden eyes seem to glow when he turns his gaze on whoever is visiting with him.
How sad this incredible feline was found as a stray, wandering around a parking lot of a local motel. Forced to rely on his instincts in order to stay alive, he was eventually picked up by police and brought to Kane County Animal Control.
Not a cat that wastes his time just hanging around a shelter, Randy Savage has made the most of his stretch at KCAC, bringing all of his energy and charisma to the hunt for his new family.
Randy is an extremely extroverted cat who will absolutely melt your heart with his loving disposition.
When he’s in his cage, he will talk and talk and talk as he attempts to encourage someone to let him out by rubbing up against the bars.
Other cats don’t seem to bother him as long as they play nice, but his go-to source of entertainment is getting petted by people, especially if he is the center of attention.
Second only to getting petted, Randy likes to show off how well he can climb. And boy, can he climb! His focus may not be Mount Kilimanjaro, but he definitely likes getting a foothold on as many of the shelves and towers in the cat room as he can.
Perhaps Randy lived one of his lives before coming to KCAC because he appears to have a pretty good handle on how to keep people’s attention – by showing everyone his playful, confident and extremely charismatic nature.
Randy Savage is more than ready to become his new family’s main event.
