Kane County Kids Are Preparing to Head Back to School

There
are nine public school districts in Kane County. Here’s a list of the
first day back to school for most students for the 2025-2026 school
year:
- Batavia public school district 101: Aug 14
- Central unit school district 301: Aug 20
- Community unit school District 300: Aug 13
- East Aurora School District 131: Aug 20
- Elgin School District U-46: Aug 11
- Geneva Community Unit School District 304: Aug 21
- Kaneland Community Unit School District 302 Aug 13
- St. Charles Community Unit School District 303: Aug 13
- West Aurora School District 129: Aug 14
The Kane County Regional Office of Education (ROE)
serves over 1,686 educators and covers 524 square miles. The ROE
acts as an advocate for education by providing leadership, coordinating,
and delivering, state and local services, such as administer High
School Equivalency Exams, provide school and home visits, license new
