Kane County Animal Control Pet of the Week - Logan

“I love a dog; he does nothing for political reasons." – Will Rogers, Cherokee-American vaudeville performer, actor & humorist

He definitely looks good in a pineapple costume, even though it's way too big on him.

The yellow off-sets his brown and white coat which brings out the brown in his eyes. You can tell he knows he looks good in whatever he wears, even a ridiculous banana split costume, which proffers an immediate smile or giggle from those around him.

Secretly, we think Logan, a 3-year-old neutered brown and black male Chihuahua-smooth-coated-mix, finds it funny as well. It seems he enjoys the attention he gets from everyone.

We definitely know he has a happy face whenever the staff get it in their minds to dress him up. Although his smile gives him the look of an attack dog rather than a typical show of happiness, that's just the way Logan grins. No matter the look, these days, Logan has a lot to smile about.

He was found as a stray along with his companion Lucille. Both were so thin you could easily see every rib. Today, they are healthy as they happily run around the shelter chasing each other through the hallway and in the outside pen area. So much good chaos, so much fun!

Logan always has to have a stuffie in his mouth. Sometimes the toy he chooses to carry is as big as he is, but size doesn't matter when it comes to stuffed toys. Doesn't everyone know that? He will pick it up and run with it anyway. Show him you're going to throw it, and he will give off a series of hoarse excited barks as he dances in front of you waiting for the throw.

Logan deserves a happy home after all he's been through. He has so much to offer a family, including looking great in whatever outfit he wears.  And that certainly is something to smile about!

KCAC Update

Congratulations to Purse, the diminutive feline that isn't a fan of other cats, but really enjoys getting petted and cuddles from people.

Her new family was so excited to bring her home. As the paperwork was finishing, their comments in the foyer were about how the future with Purse was going to be one of just spoiling the cat.

We're so happy for you, Purse. Enjoy all that you deserve!
