Ride in Kane Keeps People on the Move

Ride in Kane is a public paratransit transportation service providing curb to curb bus or taxi service to individuals 65 and older, individuals with a disability, and those with low income who qualify for the ​​service in Kane County. Ride in Kane operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.  

From January to August of 2022,  Ride in Kane has provided 37,708 sponsored rides with a monthly average of 4,708 trips.   The service currently has over 8000 registered riders. 

The current cash fare is $5.00 for the first 10 miles of a trip and $1.50 per each additional mile over 10 miles.

Ride in Kane is administered by Kane County Division of Transportation in partnership with Pace Suburban Bus, and local municipalities, townships, and social service agencies operating as local sponsors. ​​

To use the Ride in Kane ser​vice, you must be registered with a local sponsor. 

1. The first step is to determine if you live in a sponsored area or are a client of the social service agencies participating as sponsors, ​CLICK HERE.

2. ​Second, contact the sponsor directly to register with them. Local sponsors determine individual ride restrictions and eligibility requirements for their riders.   Once you have registered you will receive a copy of the Rider's Guide - click the links to view in English or Spanish.

3. Third, once registered you can start scheduling rides in accordance with the sponsor ride restrictions.
