Kane County Animal Control Pet of the Week - Mini and Pearl

If you're someone's pet, it's not fun getting owner-surrendered to a shelter, especially when you thought you already had a home.
In the very special case of two wonderful felines named Mini and her mom, Pearl, the reason for surrender was because someone in the family had developed allergies. And just like that, they were both brought to KCAC where they have been ever since.
Now, they are looking for that special something which has been so elusive in their lives—a fur-ever home, a permanent place to live together, a “mom and me" abode until the end.
The youngest of the two is Mini. She's Pearl's daughter and she's only about 10-months-old. She's a little bit over 7-pounds. She small, cute, quiet and very sweet.
Her golden eyes and beautiful tri-color markings will make anyone stop and stare. She's that pretty. She doesn't mind showing off her stuff when there are people in the room, but at the same time, she has a restrained demeanor. She will hang back when she doesn't feel comfortable and look toward Pearl for reassurance.
Pearl is Mini's mom, a 2-1/2-year-old gray Domestic Shorthair. She also is reserved, not very forthcoming, but enjoys spending time with her daughter.
The two of them are bonded together forever, like two peas in a pod, cut from the same cloth, joined at the tail (hip), like mother like daughter. Separating them would only cause them undo angst and actually do more harm than good.
Pearl and Mini need a home where they can feel free to continue to rely on each other, and yet, have enough confidence to ask for love and support from their family of humans whenever they are feeling vulnerable.
KCAC Updates
Congratulations to Dirty Dan, the stray cat with a bad haircut that just wants to sit on someone's lap for the rest of his life. Oh, yeah, also look out the window and watch the birds and squirrels go by, then go back to sleep on someone's lap.
Well, Dirty Dan found his forever-human and is probably cuddled up on their lap as we speak!

It's often been said that the best revenge is success. We are so happy to report a wonderful success story!
Congratulations to Squeaky, the 3-year-old orange tabby that was left in his carrier, in a bag by a dumpster.
We knew it was just a matter of time before just the right person showed up to adopt him and give him the life he so richly deserves. And that is exactly what happened!
We know that he is squeaking his way into a permanent place in his new family's hearts each and every day, especially when he asks for all those hugs and cuddles.
Not all heroes wear capes! So true!
And last but not least, our cheers and applause go out to Dodgeball, the little over a year orange and white feline that isn't in much of a hurry to go places. He has a passion for speaking his mind and getting all the belly rubs he can and then telling everyone about his daily adventures.
His conversations will never fall on deaf ears in his new home. We are so happy for you, Dodgeball!

All Kane County Animal Control adoptable cats and dogs are spayed/neutered, microchipped, up-to-date on all vaccines including rabies. They are tested for feline leukemia/FIV and heartworm.
The adoption fee for dogs is $200 and $100 for cats. Adoption of two dogs is $300 and it is $150 to adopt two cats.
