Kane County’s Anne Wilford Named Floodplain Manager of the Year
Anne Wilford, Water Resources Engineer and Senior Stormwater Manager with the Kane County Department of Environmental and Water Resources has been named Floodplain Manager of the Year by the Illinois Association for Floodplain and Stormwater Management.
The award recognizes outstanding contributions at the local level to reduce flood hazards and improve floodplain management.
Wilford has served as Kane County’s stormwater manager since 2016, overseeing stormwater permitting for development projects and ensuring compliance with floodplain regulations and the county’s stormwater ordinance. She also led development of the county’s 2024 Natural Hazard Mitigation Plan and works with local, state and federal partners to improve stormwater infrastructure and reduce flood risk.
Wilford addressed the Kane County Development Committee, saying she is honored to serve the people of Kane County and proud to work alongside a dedicated team committed to the community, adding that none of what they accomplish would be possible without the talented people she works with every day.
